HALSTEAD —

The Kansas Learning Center for Health in Halstead is pleased to announce the reception of a grant of $500 from the Central Kansas Community Foundation and the Newton Kids FUNd.

This grant will be used to support the “Summer of Discovery: Cooking With Art” camp scheduled for June and July in Halstead.

Area children from pre-K through sixth grade can enroll in classes that will explore printmaking, sculpture, cooking, painting, drawing and hands-on art with recycled materials.

The sessions will be at the Tortoise Gallery and the Kansas Learning Center for Health, both in Halstead.

Sessions will culminate in an Art Walk on July 25.

Both the Tortoise Gallery and the Learning Center are small and would not be able to offer these classes without the assistance of the Central Kansas Community Foundation and its grant programs.

We know the foundation has been a positive force in Harvey County, supporting many charities since its inception. They provide an excellent vehicle to insure allocated funds can serve these charities for many years to come.

We would like to encourage everyone to take a look at the Central Kansas Community Foundation for their bequests and ongoing support of your favorite organizations.

It’s a win-win for everyone!
