LETTER: Plaudits to Sunset 5th graders, teachers

We would like to applaud the fifth-grade teachers at Sunset Elementary School for introducing their students to Greg Mortenson’s passion for educating students in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

“Three Cups of Tea” is one of the most inspiring books recently published.

The book is available in the adult version, a young readers edition, and a children’s picture book version titled “Listen to the Wind.”

These books are available at Peace Connections, 612 N. Main St. in Newton, as well as other retail outlets.

The impact of this study on the local students will broaden their global cultural understanding. They are partners with students across the United States in this philanthropic effort.
