I’m writing this letter to proudly endorse T. Walton for Harvey County Sheriff. I have never felt comfortable publicly endorsing a candidate, but this year is different. I feel it’s too important for me personally and for my community.
I have known T. for more than a decade while living in Newton. The thing that has never changed from the first time I met him as a parent at Lincoln school until now would be his kind spirit and his humility. He has always put others first. It’s not surprising many of our biggest stories in our community, as tragic as some have been, T. is the one who is mentioned and honored for his acts of bravery. His heart has clearly been for the families, the victims, exactly what I personally want and need as a citizen of Harvey County. Another quality that is very special about T. is his honest character. He is honest and moral to the core, something we should grasp as our sheriff. Talk to former officers, and his honesty is mentioned over and over. And, finally, after volunteering and working at USD 373 for more than 15 years, my heart is definitely with the children of our community. T. Walton works endlessly for the children of Harvey County. He is involved in many safety issues involving our kids. The Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center he created shows one of many ways his commitment is clear.In this day and age, it’s important to know the facts and to vote accordingly. The facts are clear. We would be a better community with T. Walton as our sheriff. As a registered Republican, I am proudly voting for the right man to serve my family and my county.
