For 11 years, I was allowed the honor of serving as a board member for the USD 398 Peabody-Burns School District. Having had this experience, I am well aware of the dedication and commitment it requires.

I have had the privilege of knowing Barbara Bunting for about 13 years. Having served under Barbara’s presidency as a member of the Northview Development Services board, I was able to experience firsthand her collaborative skills, her assertiveness and what I personally consider her greatest asset, her passion.

Three years ago, Barbara was elected by her peers of fellow school board members from the state of Kansas to serve a three-year term on the executive board of the Kansas Association of School Boards.

Last year, Barbara led this committee, serving as president. In her role of leading KASB, I was able to witness firsthand her tireless challenge of the KASB organization to go beyond required regulations and strive towards excellence for our children. Barbara is not one to except status quo.

With financial issues and many other challenges facing education today, in my opinion it is crucial we have individuals leading our school districts who are experienced, knowledgeable and have the courage it takes to face and overcome these difficulties.

Barbara works hard and spends many hours informing and educating herself on all the issues and challenges that are before us educationally.

Her vast experience, dedication, commitment and passion are invaluable assets to our district in helping to ensure our Newton students receive the best education possible to prepare them for their futures.

Please join me in casting your vote for Barbara Bunting for USD 373 school board.

— Sincerely,

Doe Ann Hague, Newton
