Dear Newton CROP Hunger Walk Committee and community participants:
On behalf of the Harvey County SV/SA Task Force, I would like to thank you for your efforts and the recent financial support received from the CROP Hunger Walk. This generous contribution and your support will feed many needy families in Harvey County.
The need for our services continues to increase as the word gets out about our services. We are currently working with 110 families with 124 children. The Safe House outreach has had a 41 percent increase in victim services with face-to-face, unduplicated domestic and sexual violence services within the last 12 months.
The families that come through the Safe House have survived abuse that is often hard to comprehend. Many times, they have had to leave all of their belongings behind and start over with nothing. Knowing that people in this community want to help gives them hope. Thank you again for making a difference in someone’s life!
— Jan Jones, executive director, Harvey County Safe House.
