The Sixth Annual Heart to Heart Child Advocacy Center training was held Oct. 21 and 22 in the Trail room at Chisholm Trail mall.

Nearly 40 participants representing law enforcement, social workers, counselors, medical workers and other agencies attended.

They came from six counties, including Harvey.

Heart to Heart would like to give special recognition to our presenters: Chelie Nelson, PHD, special needs children; Lori Hardin, LMSW, SRS issues; Wilma Mueller, LBSW, finding words; Ruthann Farley, R.N., SANE/SART; and Detective Nef Torres, Cultural sensitivity.

David Yoder, Harvey County prosecutor, and Andrew Dickson, assistant county attorney, McPherson County, discussed prosecution issues.

Sheriff T. Walton, Detective Brad Celestine and North Newton Assistant Police Chief Bill Koonce presented Online Sex Crime Apprehend and Remove. We also want to thank Debra Mitchell for allowing us to use the Trail Room and Jackie Curtis for her assistance.

It truly is amazing that within our area there are so many talented individuals who are willing to share their knowledge with others.
