LETTER: About the Berlin Wall

The morning of Nov. 9 I turned on the news and heard media people talking about the anniversary of the taking down of the Berlin Wall.

It was wrongfully called “the fall of Communism.”

I had to remind myself some of these media people were not even alive, and others were in school, and all of them have grown up fed this propaganda.

The truth is, Communism said, “the west, America included, looks so much like us, this wall is no longer needed.” Look at America. The government runs the schools, banks, regulates free enterprise, health care, home mortgages, censors the news, regulates what you say, and control of the home. The government forbids the church to call sin, sin. That’s what Communism is. The government runs everything; the people are subjects. Russia said to itself: “Why fight America and be disagreeable. Put on a friendly act and watch America pour money in your pocket.”

When Vietnam ran the United States out of their country, the Japanese bankers told them, “You made a mistake, keep America involved in your country. Look at us, we lost the war to America; it rebuilt us, made us a manufacturing power. And America did it at the closing of its factories and the loss of American jobs.”

What has happened to U.S. sovereignty? You talk to our reps in Washington, D.C., or Topeka, or our schoolrooms, and most of these people never heard that expression. To be the chief, paramount, dominion, reigning, supreme and power. That is sovereignty and the worlds’ nations once respected America for these characteristics.

I still believe in these things.
