WINFIELD — Candance Denise Harper, 49, of Winfield died Friday (Nov. 13, 2009) at William Newton Memorial Hospital.
Candance was born on Sept. 5, 1960, in Arkansas City to Hosey Sr. and Otha J. (Brown) Harper. She was reared and educated in Arkansas City. She graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1979.
Candance worked for the Quail Ridge restaurant where she cooked, cleaned and helped with all restaurant work.
Survivors include her companion, Wayne Shaw of Arkansas City; son, Patrick J. Harper of Newton; daughter, Porsche J. Harper of Winfield; brothers, Randy Harper of Winfield, Hosey Harper Jr. of Arkansas City and Phillip Harper and companion Holly, both of Arkansas City; sister, Diana K. Johnson of Newton; brother, Kevin R. Harper of Arkansas City; sister, Pamela Y. Harper of Winfield; stepsister, Vicky Brown of Arkansas City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Candance was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Jennings will officiate.
A memorial has been established to defray funeral costs. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home.
