HESSTON — Florence M. “Flo” Wiens, 85, died Friday (Nov. 13, 2009) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
She was born on June 20, 1924, in Inman, the daughter of Daniel P. and Katherine Heidebrecht Wiens.
She married Leonard E. Wiens on Oct. 26, 1944, in Inman. He died on March 1, 2004.
She was a partner in farming with her husband in Walton and later owned Len & Flo’s Kitchen in Newton.
Survivors include one son, Max Wiens of Sperry, Okla.; two daughters, Karen Wiens of Palmer Lake, Colo., and Patty Wiens of Windom; brother Paul Wiens of Topeka; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 28 at Tabor Mennonite Church in rural Newton.
Memorial donations may be given to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, in Moundridge.
