HILLSBORO — Delilah Deckert, 81, died Friday (Feb. 5, 2010) at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. Delilah was born on May 10, 1928, in Roxbury to Albert Johnson and Elsie (Decker) Johnson.
She married Algy Deckert on May 26, 1950 in Tampa. Delilah was a public librarian.
She was a member of First Mennonite Church of Hillsboro.
She is survived by her sons, Warren Deckert and wife, Kathy, of Hillsboro, and Marlin Deckert and wife, Annie, of San Jose, Calif.; daughters, Diane Deckert and husband, Roy Hunt, of Oak Park, Ill., and Karen Young and husband, Ron of Wichita; sister, Rose Goossen and husband, Levi, of Newton; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Algy He died in 1992.
The family will receive guests from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Mennonite Church of Hillsboro with Pastor Randy Smith officiating.
Burial will be at Haven of Rest Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.
