Evelyn A. Goering

Evelyn A. Goering, 77, died Thursday (May 8, 2008) at Memorial Home in Moundridge.

She was born Feb. 5, 1931, in McPherson, the daughter of Jonas H. and Anna Kaufman Vogt.

She was a bookkeeper for Sid Bacon Motors and a machine operator for Sterling Drug, both in McPherson. She was a lifetime area resident and a member of Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge.

On May 26, 1949, she married Martin H. Goering in Moundridge. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Mark H. Goering of McPherson; daughter, Patty “Jean” Clark of Phoenix; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Weldon Vogt of Hesston; sisters, Letha Ediger of Inman, Ellen Stucky and Margie Kaufman, both of Moundridge, and Velma Neufeld of Richfield, Minn.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin R. Vogt.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge Funeral Home in Moundridge. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. at Eden Mennonite Church, with pastors David Stevens and Gail Graber presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Memorial Home in care of the funeral home.
