Funds raised from various events during the festival benefit causes in the community supported by the Lions, said Betty Hansen, Lions Club member.

The Lions long have supported issues involving eyesight.

The Whitewater group has supported a seeing-eye dog program, helped people buy glasses and used funds to assist people with sight issues.

A raffle during the festival and the parade are sponsored by the Lions.
