Goessel schedules baseball, softball celebration

The Goessel Community is invited to the baseball and softball games on Tuesday at the City of Goessel ball fields.

A past Goessel Recreation Commission member, Fred Schmidt, will be honored for his contributions to the community and the baseball program.

There is no charge for this event. Concessions will be available. The schedule is:

• 5:55 p.m.: Recognition ceremony for Schmidt (part 1)

• 6 p.m.: Rookie boys baseball game

• 6:55 p.m.: Recognition ceremony for Schmidt (part 2)

• 7 p.m.: Pony girls softball game

• 8:30 p.m.: Run the bases, Frisbee fun, play under the outfield sprinklers to cool off (bring towels, swimsuits or extra clothes).

The event is sponsored by the Goessel Recreation Commission.
