Parents and community members who are concerned about escalating budget cuts to K-12 education are invited to attend an Adequate Yearly Funding March for Education rally from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p..m. Tuesday at the Capitol Building in Topeka.
The Adequate Yearly Funding March for Education is a grassroots effort by Kansas educators and parents from across the state who are concerned about the continuing unaddressed budget crisis, deep education cuts and even deeper projected cuts for upcoming years.
The march is expected to attract more than 10,000 participants and the Governor has indicated his intention to address the group. Participants also will also be visiting with their legislators at the Capitol, expressing their concerns over the bleak outlook for public education in the state of Kansas if cuts continue.
