The city of Newton will observe the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, altering the curbside trash and recycling schedule. Christmas and New Year’s fall on a Friday this year.
Trash normally picked up on Thursday will be picked up on Wednesday. Trash normally picked up Dec. 25, will be picked up Thursday.
A similar schedule will follow the week after Christmas.
Trash normally picked up on Dec. 31 will be picked up Dec. 30. Trash normally picked up Jan. 1 will be picked up Dec. 31.
