A Kansas company that already does some child welfare work for the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is opening an Omaha office.
KVC Behavioral Healthcare officials its plans to expand its operations in Nebraska on Tuesday. Officials with the nonprofit say they expect to eventually have about 180 employees in Nebraska.
As Nebraska changes the way it handles foster care and family services, contractors like KVC are likely to get more work delivering services.
KVC plans to open its Omaha office by the end of the year. The company already has offices in Beatrice, Seward, Lincoln and Nebraska City.
The company is based in Olathe.
