The death of Jack Goering, 60, no longer is being investigated as suspicious, Lt. Eric Murphy of the Newton Police Department said.
Goering died in a fire Wednesday in the 1800 block of Windsor Drive.Police now believe the death was an accident or suicide. However, they still do not know how the fire started. Fire crews were called about 6:35 a.m. Wednesday to the 1800 block of Windsor Drive to the report of a grass fire.There they found a bucket on fire and Goering burned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.Police are unsure what happened as witnesses said they saw the man alive five minutes before the fire call.NEWTON —
