Karen Sue Jordan, 63, passed away on Friday (Jan. 13, 2012) at her residence in Newton.
She was born on Aug. 27, 1948, in Cozad (Dawson), Neb., to Ralph and Mary (Kern) Jordan. She attended Ashland High School in 1967 and also Dodge City Community College, where she received an associate’s degree. She worked as a dietician until she retired.
Karen was an avid fan of the Newton High School girl’s basketball team. She lived in the Mid-Town Towers, where she socialized with her many friends.
She is survived by her two brothers, Randy and Gary Jordan; and sister, Karla Wiekal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Jordan.
A graveside memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wellington Cemetery in Wellington.
A memorial has been set up with the American Diabetes Association and St. Matthew’s Payee Program, in care of Petersen Funeral Home of Newton.
