One injury accident was reported in the Newton area New Year’s Eve — a one-vehicle accident on Interstate 135.
According to a report filed by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Lonnie J. Powers, 51, of Goessel was driving a 1989 Oldsmobile northbound and lost control at 10:42 p.m. Wednesday near mile marker 32.
The car entered the median and rolled.
Powers was transported to Newton Medical Center by Newton EMS in serious condition.
