Business hurt by illness scare

Owners of the Acapulco Restaurant in Newton spoke out Tuesday about the salmonella scare that has hung over the family business since June.

Salvador Lujano and his sons Erick and Salvador Jr. expressed frustration the source of the salmonella has not been found.

However, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment narrowed the possible causes of illness to cross contamination, contaminated produce and food preparation procedures in a preliminary report released Monday.
