Tabor College will perform “Steel Magnolias” during Family Weekend, Feb. 17 through 19, and an additional performance is planned for Feb. 24.

“Expect plenty of laughter and a bit of heartbreak from six small-town Louisiana women who spend a good deal of time together in Truvy’s Beauty Parlor,” says Judy Harder, director of this comedy-drama.

Fragile as magnolias and tough as steel, they deal with whatever life sends their way, adding doses of spice and humor whenever possible, a college news release stated.

This group of characters is played by Becky Steketee of Hillsboro, Alisa Lynn of Olathe, Hannah Vogt of Newton, Hannah Evans of Wichita, Sydney Coughlin of Visalia, Calif., and Sarah Wyckoff of Blackwell, Okla.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Feb. 17, 1:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 19, and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24. The drama will be in the Theater Lab in lower Lohrenz.

General admission is $6 and students are $4. Get your tickets now as seating is limited. To reserve your tickets, contact the Office of Student Life at (620) 947-3121 ext. 1044.
