The Veterans Committee of Harvey County announces the Third Annual Harvey County Veterans Day Parade will be at 2 p.m. Nov. 9 in downtown Newton. The parade route is from Fifth and Main streets north to 11th Street.
The committee is looking for more entries for the parade. If clubs, Scout troops, church, organizations, businesses or individuals would like to participate in the parade, visit the committee’s Web site at www.vchvks.org or call 215-2147 for entry forms or more information. The parade entry deadline is Nov. 5.
The second Annual Community Veterans Benefit Barbecue/Auction will be following the parade at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9. This event will be at the Newton KANG Armory at 400 Grandview.
The public is invited. There is no charge but donations will be accepted.
