Payday loans, author’s visit topic of discussion

Payday loans in Newton will be the topic of the January Bridges/Circles gathering from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Peace Connections, 612 N. Main St.

Bruce Bradshaw, author of the “porn shop” letter to the editor in the Dec. 9 Kansan, and Konnie Reynolds of Loan Perfect Inc. will “set the stage” for the discussion. Attendees can ask questions and get information about the payday loan businesses.

Scott Miller’s visit to Newton on Jan. 27 and 28 also will be discussed.

Miller is the CEO of Move The Mountain Leadership Center and author of “Until It’s Gone: Ending Poverty in Our Nation in Our Lifetime.”
