Local business Bud and Steve Auto Service recently donated $210 to help fight cancer.
For every set of four tires sold from Oct. 24 through Thanksgiving, the business donated $10 to “Running with a Reason,” an organization started by owner B.J. Stahly’s wife, Kim.
Kim has a goal of running a half marathon in every state and raising awareness about cancer.
“She felt the urge at the time to do something for someone else in the process,” B.J. said.
His wife raises money for a different cancer patient each year and donates 100 percent of the money she receives.
In the past, she has run in honor of Eileen Huffman, Patsy Dilts and Helen Hinz. This year she is running for Corey Harder, who is suffering from brain cancer.
