A house fire occurred at 3 a.m. Wednesday at 1602 N. Poplar St. in Newton.
In addition to structural damage, a mattress, box springs and a recliner caught fire. The Newton Fire/EMS Department estimates there was $7,000 worth of damage in the blaze.No injuries were reported.NEWTON —
