sets community picnic
 
SEDGWICK — The Annual Sedgwick USD 439 Site Council Picnic will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the multi-purpose room at R.L. Wright Elementary School in Sedgwick.
Sedgwick residents and community members are invited to the free event.
There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, beans, chips, cookies and drinks served.
A drawing will be conducted for a free USD 439 family pass for the 2010-2011 school year.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
Event teaches how  to
manage digital photos

A hands-on computer class titled “Managing Digital Photos with Picasa” will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Newton Public Library.
Jeff Heidel will lead the class in using Picasa, Google’s free photo management system, to import photos from your camera, organize, edit, resize, print and back up photos.
Registration is limited. Contact the library at 720 N. Oak St. or 283-2890 to sign up.
Participants should bring a digital camera with some stored photos, cords for connecting to a computer, and manuals.
Attendees should bring their own laptop if they have one.
This class is free and open to all, regardless of experience.
