The Newton downtown was filled with Cuties and ghoulies as residents celebrated Halloween with the Halloween Safe Walk for children and the Newton Zombie Walk.

Cuties, ghoulies celebrate Halloween

Six-month-old Jaidyn Schroeder of Newton enjoys trick or treating in downtown Newton on Halloween night during the Halloween Safe Walk.

Zombies gathered at the Newton Activity Center for the Newton Zombie Walk on Halloween night. The walk began at the activity center and proceeded eastward on Fifth Street and turning westward onto Sixth at City Hall. They lurched back to Main and ended at the Fox Theatre for pizza and a movie.

Members of the Newton Police Department and Fire/EMS provide treats for local trick-or-treaters during the annual Halloween Safe Walk.
