The Newton Kansan is accepting photographs from amateur photographers that capture the people, places and lifestyle in Harvey County during the past year.
This year, there will be two categories — candid shots of people in Harvey County and nature/landscapes in Harvey County.
The photos should be submitted to the Kansan in hard copy or electronic form.
Prizes will be awarded for first and second in each category. Prizes will be $60 for first prizes and $30 for second prizes. Limit five entries per person.
Winning and a sampling of other entries will be published in a special Progress section of the Kansan.
Your name and hometown will appear with the photo.
Please include a short description of who or what is in the pictures and where the pictures were taken.
Send your photos to wendy.nugent@thekansan-.com, with “photo contest” in the subject line. Or, drop them by our office at 121 W. Sixth St. Include a daytime phone number in case we have a question.
