Linda Kaufman, a nurse who was convicted of crimes against mentally ill residents in a Newton group home that she helped supervise with her husband is set for a resentencing at 1:30 p.m. Monday in federal court in Wichita.

A jury found Linda Kaufman and her husband, Arlan, forced residents to work naked and perform sex acts while billing the government and their families for therapy.

An appeals court threw out her original prison term. The appeals court ruled the court should reconsider factors that could lengthen Linda Kaufman’s seven-year sentence.

Kaufman’s attorney has argued she is not a threat to society.

Judge Monti L. Belot will handle the proceedings.
