Pre-School Tae Kwon Do — 1 to 2 p.m. Saturdays, today through July 23. This class is an introductory Tae Kwon Do class which will emphasize discipline, courtesy and respect and help develop motor skills with a whole lot of fun mixed in! Mr. Monares will end each class with a Korean fable. Instructor: Dany Monares.
Youth Tennis Clinic — 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday through July 22. Participants will learn various tennis fundamentals through instruction and match play. NRC will supply racquets and balls or participants may bring their own racquets. For ages 4-14. Instructor: Kyle Murphy
Multi-Cultural Art — 9 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, July 18 through July 22. Each day will focus on different cultures and the art forms that define them. We will learn about the origins of the art form, and will make our own art. For ages 5 through 8 years old. Instructor: Beth Burns.
Mimicking the Masters — 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday for ages 5 to 8. This class will focus on famous artists, and we will learn about their lives each day, as well as creating works in their style. Students will leave this class with knowledge of some of the great artists of the world and a variety of art techniques and media. Instructor: Beth Burns.
Water Media — 1 to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for ages 9 to 12. A class to learn basic techniques of different media using water — water color, markers, inks, etc. After spending time learning the basic techniques and studying artists who use those techniques we will create works of our own. Instructor: Beth Burns.
Printmaking — 3 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for ages 9 to 12. This class will explore different types and uses of printmaking. We will be creating our own works of art using these techniques. We will print using collagraph, monotype and relief printing. Instructor: Beth Burns.
Old School Lifeguarding — 5:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, July 20 through July 22. This course offers Lifeguard training for adults. If you let your certifications slide and would like to renew or would just like to learn a new skill, this is the course for you. All certifications offered for other lifeguard training courses apply. The longest distance required to swim is 200 yards. For ages 30 and older. Instructor: Vicki Scheuermann.

The center has planned a variety of activities planned, including swimming, library days, craft projects, Adventure Day trips and more for children ages 5 through 12. The program is a state-licensed day care and an SRS-approved program. Discovery Camp will participate in the summer food program. Take Control With Exercise — Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program — 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Developed by physical therapists specifically for arthritis, this low-impact exercise-based program uses gentle activities to help increase joint flexibility and range of motion and helps maintain muscle strength. This program also helps increase overall stamina. Taught by Fred Saab, Certified Arthritis Foundation instructor. Scholarships available.
NRC offers Land and Water Fitness Classes — First Session FREE for all water or land fitness classes taught by NRC instructors. Everyone is invited to try a class. Call 283-7330 for class times.
Free Senior Swim — 1 to 2 p.m. weekdays. Senior swim is free and open to all over the age of 55. The water temperature is kept between 86 and 89 degrees.
Free Open Gym — Anyone may bring a basketball and shoot some hoops in NRC’s gymnasium during business hours.
Climate-controlled indoor walking track — The NRC gym has a walking track (12 laps equal one mile) which is available for walking at anytime during business hours. Use of the track is free.
Municipal Pool at Athletic Park — Public swim hours: 1 to 5 p.m. daily and family swim, 7 to 9 p.m. weekdays. The Municipal Pool is available to rent on Saturday and Sunday evenings.
