HILLSBORO — The Bethel College women’s soccer team claimed a 1-1 overtime tie against Tabor Wednesday night in KCAC play in Hillsboro.

Tabor scored in the ninth minute on a goal by Macey Darrah. Bethel tied the game in the 64th minute on a goal by Alayna Wallace.

Bethel outshot the Bluebirds 11-6 overall, 6-4 on goal. Ashtyn Brown had three saves for Bethel. Ruby-Anne Fines had five saves for Tabor, 6-7-2 overall and 5-2-2 in KCAC play.

Bethel is 3-9-2 overall and 2-6-2 in KCAC play. Bethel hosts Ottawa at 6 p.m. Saturday.

fall to Tabor

HILLSBORO — The Bethel College men’s soccer team fell to rival Tabor 4-2 Wednesday in KCAC play in Hillsboro.

Bryce Warner scored a goal with an assist for Tabor. David Reyes, Lewis Furmenger and Austin Meads each added a goal. Christopher Aguilar had two assists. Federico Bove added an assist.

Marcus Aragon and Aymane Fahmi each scored a goal for Bethel.

Bethel was outshot 18-10, 11-6 on goal. Kobi Russom had seven saves for Bethel. Derrick Eszlinger had four saves for Tabor, 7-7-1 overall and 5-4-1 in KCAC play.

Bethel is 1-12-2 overall, 1-7-2 in KCAC play, and hosts Ottawa at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

fall to KCK

HESSTON — The Hesston College volleyball team fell to Kansas City (Kan.) Community College in four sets Wednesday at Yost Center in Jayhawk East play.

Hesston fell 21-25, 26-24, 25-18, 25-22.

Kylee Kasselman led Hesston with nine kills, followed by Jade Gleason with eight. Faith Hallmark set 30 assists. Hallmark and Annalys Hanna each had 20 digs. Macey Murray had 18 digs. Kasselman served four aces, followed by Pauline Diaz with three and Murray with two. Diaz downed five blocks. Abby Busby and Kasselman each downed three blocks.

KCK’s stats were not posted.

Kansas City (Kan.) improves to 18-15, 3-7 in conference play. Hesston is 11-17, 3-7 in conference play. The Larks finish their first season in the Jayhawk Conference in a three-way tie for seventh with Kansas City and Cloud County. The top seven teams advance to the NJCAA District M and N tournaments.

Hesston hosts the McPherson College junior varsity and Seminole State at 5 p.m. Friday to end the regular season.
