It has been said: "The presumption of innocence is the golden thread that runs through the criminal justice system.
"When a person is accused of a criminal offense they are presumed to be innocent.
"The presumption of innocence is a protective robe that an accused person wears until they are found guilty.
"It is the prosecution who must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt; it is the state who must remove the robe of innocence."
Here in America, we declared our independence from King George, and one of the reasons was that we were tired of being "Guilty" with no need for evidence or proof of guilt.
Evidently, the Ctrl-Left is working to return to those days.
But then, Socialism and Totalitarianism are one and the same.
