Last Saturday, July 7, we held our 2nd Annual Country Fair Fund Raiser at Grand Central. We have so many people to thank for helping us reach our goal of $3000 for the day. We not only met the goal but surpassed it. Our main goal at Grand Central is to complete the replacement of the HVAC system either this year or next year. Initially we needed $60,000. After Saturday’s fund raiser we still need $25,000 to complete the project. The support of the community for our efforts is so important to us and we thank everyone who came.
We want to thank our sponsors for their contributions to the event this year. Without your help it would have been difficult to reach our goal. Thank you for your support: Midland National Bank; Citizens State Bank; Newton Medical Center; Krueger Insurance; Miller Insurance; Thrivent Financial.
Our gift baskets were filled with contributions from all the following businesses and individuals: ASAP AutoWorks; Billy Sims BBQ; Clayworks Gallery; Comfort Care Homes; Faith and Life; Gurty’s Burgers & Shakes; Kansas Auto Repair; Kansas Christian Home; Orscheln Farm and Home; Renewal Massage and Bodywork; Sears of Newton; Tongish Auto Mart; Tractor Supply Co.; GM Air; Paco Gonzalez Family Jean Mitchel; Carla Scott; Vicky Auman; Linda Harder; Twyla Kovac; Larry Clover; Marilyn Graber; Richard and Becky Hege; Rhonda Sullivan; Charlie and Betty Lanzrath; Roger and Leslie Runnalls; Randy and Susan Rice; Mel McAnulty; Tim Marlar; Marilyn Schmidt; Arnie McCloud; Bob McAllister; Bob Driskill.
Our volunteers pulled it all together and made it happen. Thank you to each one of you.
A big thank you also goes to The Newton Kansan and Patricia Middleton for the article about our fund raiser. Keeping the community informed about the center is very important.
To all of Newton - Grand Central is your senior center. Thanks for supporting it!
