HALSTEAD — The Hesston High School girls’ track team finished second at the Central Kansas League Championships Thursday at Halstead.

Smoky Valley topped the Swathers 115-92. Hillsboro was third at 62, while Haven was fourth at 47 and Hoisington and Nickerson tied for fifth. Host Halstead was 10th with 31 points.

Kingman won the boys’ title at 124. Smoky Valley was second at 76, followed by Hoisington at 70.16, Halstead at 61 and Hesston at 58.

Celbi Richardson won the shot put in 38-5 1/4 and the discus in 113-8. Lydia Enge took second in the discus in 111-6.

Elise Kaiser won the 100-meter dash in 1:00.85 and took third in the 200-meter dash in 27.73.

The team of Connie Schott, Marisa Vogt, Emily Koehn and Elise Kaiser took second in the 4x400-meter relay in 4;14.62.

Danielle Bartheme took third in the 3,200-meter run in 14:49.61.

Kylie Klassen took third in the pole vault at 10-3.

For the Hesston boys, The team of Josh Roth, Ayden Fleming, Mitchell Martin and Parker Roth won the 4x100-meter relay in 44.05.

Parker Roth took second in the 100-meter dash in 11.36 and second in the 200-meter dash in 23.40. He took third in the long jump in 20-2 1/2.

Reese Nebel took second in the high jump at 6-2.

The Halstead boys were led by the team of Dakota Blaylock, Braden Gerber, Andrew O’Brien and Josh Talbott, which won the 4x800-meter relay in 8:23.21.

Talbott won the 800-meter run in 2:02.69.

The team of Blaylock, Braden Gerber, Kameron Freeman and Talbott took second in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:31.89.

Kason O’Neal took third in the triple jump in 40-11.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Lydia Johnson, Jayden Siebert, Katylynn Millspaugh and Karenna Gerber took second in 10:56.93. The team of Madison McClain, Karenna Gerber, Millspaugh and Maggie McKee won the 4x100-meter relay in 51.16.

The team of McClain, Karenna Gerber, Lydia Johnson and McKee took third in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:17.62.

Hesston competes in the Class 3A regionals at 3 p.m. Friday at Beloit. Halstead competes in the Class 3A regionals at 3 p.m. Friday at Cimarron.
