The annual FFA plant sale will be April 9 through 14, with the greenhouse at Newton High School open daily. The greenhouse is attached to the agricultural education building on the Newton High School campus.
This year offerings include tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, hot peppers, cauliflower, okra, parsley and leeks for the vegetable garden. There will be petunias, dusty millers, pansies, vincas, ageratums, marigolds, zinnia, poppies snapdragons, carnations and celosia for the flower gardens as well.
Cost will be $2 for a six pack or $.50 for individual plants.
All the plants were started by FFA members. In addition, there wil be some hanging basket and house plants available. Cost for hanging plants are $12 for an eight inch basket, $16 for a 12 inch basket, $3 for Christmas Cactus, $6 for snake plants, $2 for geraniums, $8 for jade plants and between $2 and $6 for Aloe Vera plants.
The plant sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 to 3 p.m. daily through Friday, and from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
