No kindergarten classes Monday

There will be no school for Newton USD 373 Kindergarten students Monday. Their teachers, however, will be working.

Incoming Kindergarten students and their families will be able to enroll for the 2018-19 school year from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. during a come-and-go kindergarten roundup at McKinley Administrative Center. Future students and parents will have the opportunity to meet the Kindergarten teachers and the K-4 principals.

You must bring the following items for your child: immunization records, health assessment, birth certificate and social security card.

Writers to meet

Creative Writers Fellowship will meet at 7 p.m. April 7 at Hesston Public Library.  Published author Lois Preheim will share insights regarding “Search and Research”.  Visitors welcome.

 

County commission to meet

The Board of Harvey County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. April 2 in the meeting room of the Harvey County Courthouse, 800 N. Main.

Agenda items include a proclamation of child abuse prevention month, a proclamation of national service recognition day, a UTV bid, a township annual report, an appointment of a temporary appraiser, an executive session to discuss security measures, an executive session to discuss personnel matters and a period for public comment.
