Members of Youth as Resources recently spent time on capitol hill in Topeka, meeting with lawmakers.
Members of Harvey County programs were able to meet Sen. Carolyn McGinn.
YAR allows teams of high school youth to design and carry out service projects contributing to community improvement, as well as to implement campaigns that address substance abuse in their schools. YAR teams have been addressing smoking and illegal drug use.
The YAR program is currently available in Halstead, Newton, Hesston, Burrton, Peabody and Sedgwick.
