ALLEN, Texas — The Wichita Thunder fell to the Allen Americans 4-1 Tuesday in ECHL play in Allen.

Allen improves to 33-27-5-2, while Wichita drops to 33-27-6-2. Allen is one point behind Wichita for third place in the Mountain Division and sixth place in the Western Conference. Wichita has four games remaining, while Allen has five.

Wichita scored first on a goal by Ryan Van Stralen with assists from Marc-Olivier Crevier-Morin at the 13:22 mark in the first period. Allen came back with the next four goals, including an empty netter with 56 seconds remaining.

Zach Pochiro scored a goal with an assist for Allen. Eric Roy, Bryan Moore and Thomas Frazee each added a goal. Jared Bethune had two assists.

Wichita outshot Allen 33-29. Jake Paterson had 32 saves for Allen. Shane Starrett had 25 saves for Wichita.

Wichita returns home to face the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
