OVERLAND PARK — The Hesston College women’s basketball team ended the season with a 101-57 loss to Johnson County Community College Wednesday in the NJCAA Division II, Region VI playoffs in Overland Park.

Hesston trailed 33-11 after the first quarter and 60-26 at the half.

Jaclonna Stowers scored 22 points off the bench for Johnson County. Cerena Reeves scored 18 points with 11 rebounds. Tristen McFeders scored 14 points. Juella Brown scored 10.

Millaya Bray led Hesston with 13 points. KaDrea Hulett scored 12 points. Kara Horton scored 10 points.

Johnson County is 24-7 and faces Labette Community College Saturday in the semifinals.

Hesston ends the season 11-19.

PARSONS — The Hesston College men’s basketball team fell to Labette Community College 71-69 Wednesday in the NJCAA Division II, Region VI playoffs Wednesday in Parsons.

Hesston trailed 35-22 at the half.

Hesston was outscored 10-2 from the free throw line.

Larenz Nero scored 17 points for Labette. Kashawn Charles scored 13 points. Frank Royals scored 10 points.

Aubrey Johnson scored 19 points with 10 rebounds for Hesston. Coye Campbell also scored 19 points. Zac Neely scored 15 points.

Labette is 15-16 and faces top-seeded Johnson County Community College Saturday.

Hesston ends the season 15-12.
