GREAT BEND — Newton High School senior Adrianna Lettau qualified for the Class 5-4-3-2-1A state bowling championships after a ninth-place finish Friday in the regional tournament at the Walnut Bowl in Great Bend.

Lettau rolled games of 147, 182 and 176 for a 505 series.

Jaiden Montandon of Buhler was the regional champion at 571, followed by Jordan Vsetecka of Great Bend at 549 and Lauren Lust of Salina South at 535.

Regan Winegarner of Maize had the high game of 231. Montandon had the high game of 214. Lust had a 209 and Jordan VanArdsall had a 208.

For Newton, Jenna Baldwin finished 19th at 462, missing a state berth by four pins. Katy Clanton rolled a 435. Shelby Wolfe rolled a 432. Brynna Walton rolled a 392 and McKayla Garton rolled a 315.

Salina South won the team title at 2,779, followed by Buhler in second at 2,728 and Maize in third at 2,672.

Newton was fifth at 2,407.

The top three teams and top six individuals not on the top three teams qualify for state.

Great Bend won the team title at 3,349, followed by McPherson at 3,326 and Salina South at 3,075.

Newton was ninth at 2,722.

Taylor Miller of McPherson had the high series of 695, followed by Kameron Keener of Great Bend at 694 and Dane VanAtta in third at 678. VanAtta had the high game of 263, followed by Taylor Miller at 258 and Kyle Miller of Salina South at 257.

Newton was led by Hervey Medina in 17th at 568. Medina missed a state berth by seven pins.

Joey Gile rolled a 511, followed by Brett Ashcraft at 510, Kobe Burns at 483, Cale Lasiter at 464 and Treyton Rice at 450. Gile had Newton’s high game of 208.

The girls’ state meet is 1:40 p.m. Friday at Northrock Lanes in Wichita.
