PEABODY - The Hub recently announced it has received a $750 grant from the Peabody Community Foundation Endowment Fund, funded through the Peabody Community Foundation (PCF), an affiliate of Central Kansas Community Foundation. The organization will use the funds to replace and update electronics, specifically computers.

Many of the students who frequent The Hub rely upon the computers available at The Hub to accomplish school work that requires internet and other processing capabilities. However, the computers currently in The Hub’s possession are out of date and no longer function properly. The Hub plans to use this grant to update and improve this service for approximately 60 students in the community.

“The Hub has a longstanding past that is invested in the positive growth of the youth of our community. This investment is in all aspects of their lives, and that includes the realms of school and technology. With this grant, the students will have a greater opportunity to excel in school, with technology, and in the future. We are incredibly thankful for this Peabody Community Foundation and the assistance this grant will bring,” Said Isaac Good, Hub Director.

The Hub provides a safe-haven for the youth of Peabody and the surrounding area. Positive and healthy relationships are encouraged by providing various activities and events. The Hub’s mission is to ensure that youth know that they are cared for and important while helping them learn how to build self-confidence and self-respect in a supervised drug and alcohol free environment. The Hub also provides a clean modern facility for community activities and events.

PCF was established in 2000 to assist in providing resources for a broad range of existing and future charitable needs in the Peabody, Kansas area.
