HESSTON — The Hesston Swather girls jumped to a 15-2 lead in the first quarter to get by Larned 54-22 Friday in CKL play at Hesston.

The Swathers led 38-9 at the half.

Elise Kaiser led Hesston with 17 points. Kailey Jo Ince scored 15 and Alaina Dunlavy scored 11.

Katelyn Sanger scored 13 points for Larned.

Hesston is 13-4, 7-1 in CKL play, and plays Tuesday at Hoisington.

HALSTEAD — The Halstead Dragon girls pulled away from a close game in the second half to stop Hoisington 42-29 Friday in CKL play in Halstead.

The Dragons led 18-14 at the half and 30-20 after three quarters.

Karenna Gerber scored 12 points to lead Halstead. Kayla Newman added 11.

Jocelynn Pedigo scored 13 points for Hoisington, 7-10 overall and 3-5 in CKL play.

Halstead is 15-2, 6-2 in CKL play. Halstead plays Tuesday at Hillsboro.

GOESSEL – The Goessel Bluebird girls claimed the Wheat State League title with an 84-13 win over Peabody-Burns Friday in Goessel.

Goessell led 51-8 at the half.

Eden Hiebert scored 27 points for Goessel, followed by Brittney Hiebert with 21 and Abby Hannon with 18, hitting six 3-pointers.

Precious Kerr led the Warriors with seven points.

Goessel is 14-3, 9-0 in WSL play and hosts Little River Tuesday.

Peabody-Burns is 0-17, 0-9 in league play. The Warriors play Tuesday at Elyria Christian.
