MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge High School girls’ basketball team rallied in the second half fot a 60-48 win over Hutchinson Trinity Friday in Heart of America League play in Moundridge.

Trailing 28-20 at the half, the Wildcats made an 18-3 run in the third quarter and continued to pull away in the fourth quarter.

Moundridge went 13 of 17 from the line in the fourth quarter.

Hailey Unruh led Moundridge with 15 points, followed by Bethany Stucky with 13, Kaela Harms with 10 and Ellen Durst with 10.

Olivia Shank scored 21 points to lead Trinity, 8-8 overall and 4-2 in HOAL play. Hailey Hughes scored 13 and Elizabeth Zruback scored 11.

Moundridge is 9-7, 4-2 in HOAL play. The Wildcats host Bennington today.

INMAN — The Berean Academy girls’ basketball team got off to a hot start and survived a cold second quarter to down Inman 45-39 Friday in Heart of America League play.

Berean led 13-4 after the first quarter, but was outscored 12-4 in the second. The Warriors led 31-29 after three quarters and held off the Teutons in the fourth for the win.

Mallory Wiebe led the Warriors with 14 points, followed by Ashtyn Wiebe with 13 and Brooke Wiebe with 10.

Olivia Clark led Inman with 13 points. Inman falls to 9-6, 3-3 in HOAL play.

Berean is 11-3, 3-2 in HOAL play, and plays Tuesday at Hutchinson Trinity.

The Newton High School freshman girls’ team was outscored 30-11 in the first quarter, leading to a 67-37 loss to McPherson Monday at Ravenscroft Gym.

Newton trailed 42-24 at the half.
