PITTSBURG — The Bethel College track team picked up another record Friday on the first day of the KCAC Indoor Championships at Pittsburg State’s Plaster Center.
Newton grad Jen Andres, a freshman for the Threshers, set a school record in the 200-meter dash prelims of 26.03, breaking a record she set earlier in the season. Andres was fourth in prelims to qualify for the finals. She also finished .37 seconds off the NAIA automatic qualifyer.
Lori White finished 21st in 27.80.
Andres ran a 7.94 in the 60-meter dash prelims, fourth overall, qualifying her for the finals. Kyla Williams took the eighth and final qualifying spot in 8.17.
Freshman Gabriele Westrich took 25th in the women’s weight throw at 7.98 meters (26-2 1/2), a personal best.
In the men’s weight throw, Robert Graham finished ninth in 13.60 meters (44-7 1/2), missing a medal by one spot. Josh Jackson was 29th in 7.55 meters (24-9 1/4) and Josh Stubblefield in 30th in 7.36 meters (24-1 3/4).
In the men’s 60-meter dash prelims, Amen Elzie finished 18th in 7.28, followed by Amdondre Street in 21st in 7.32, Bruce Rosario in 27th in 7.35 and Khalif Majied in 33rd in 7.53.
In the 200-meter dash prelims, Rosario finished 25th in 23.65, followed by Street in 30th in 23.85 and Majied in 31st in 23.86.
The meet concludes today.
