On behalf of The Salvation Army, I would like to thank the many people who made the holiday season such a success.
I would like to start by saying thank you to all the many bikers from across the region who participated in this year's annual Toy Run, the bicycles and cash donations were far more than we expected. This community was so generous to our cause and because of you so many children were able to experience a brighter Christmas. The words thank-you doesn't seem to be enough.
Thank you to all the wonderful guys and gals who rang the bells this year, as well as everyone who dropped off donations in the little red buckets. Special thanks to our Law Enforcement and Fire fighters, who took the challenge of the badges and raised over $2200.00, also a special thanks to Santa Fe Middle School who took the challenge of the battle of the grades and raised over $1200.00. Thanks so much to everyone who donated food, sponsored an angel tree child, adopted a family, donated toys, clothing and gave money to help with our annual Christmas program. Without your support we would not have been able to provide 985 persons in need with a Christmas dinner and toys for their children.
Newton Ministerial Alliances and The Salvation Army would like thank those who participated with the Harvest of Love Drive this year. We were able to supersede our poundage goal of 30,000 to 41,000 but we fail short of our compassionated ministry funds from $30,000 to 26,000. These funds will continue to be utilizes to fund our pantry and community assistance.
Last, but not least, special thanks to all the many volunteers who helped make all of this happen. Without your support we wouldn't be able to accomplish the monumental task each year.
You are truly God's angles.
