HALSTEAD — The Halstead Dragon boys’ basketball team reached the semifinals of the 48th Adolph Rupp Invitational with a 58-35 win over Minneapolis Tuesday night in Halstead.

It was Halstead’s second win over Minneapolis this season, stopping the Lions earlier this year at the Tri-County Classic.

Halstead led 16-11 after the first quarter, 25-19 at the half and 46-28 after three quarters. Kason O’Neal led Halstead with 18 points, followed by Braden Gerber with 12.

Tre-Vaughn Thomas led 4-7 Minneapolis with 15 points.

Halstead is 9-1 and plays Cheney at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the semifinals.
