Hesston 50, Smoky Val. 41

HESSTON — The Hesston Swather boys topped Smoky Valley 50-41 Tuesday in a non-league clash of Central Kansas League rivals.

Tied 9-9 after the first quarter, Hesston pulled out to a 24-19 halftime lead and a 42-24 lead after three quarters. The Vikings were able to pull within nine by the end of the game.

Cameron Cox led Hesston with 22 points, followed by Reese Nebel with 15.

Nick Reinert led 2-2 Smoky Valley with 16 points, followed by Chris Mullen with 11.

Hesston is 3-1 and hosts Kingman Friday.
