A manhunt that resulted in a school lockdown ended with an arrest and pending charges Oct. 4.
A juvenile suspect allegedly committed a home burglary, taking a rifle from a home in the 800 block of SE Second. He was seen walking near Slate Creek Elementary, which caused police to issue a lockdown at 2:27 p.m.
The juvenile was taken into custody, though he did not have the weapon when law enforcement arrested him.
"We are searching for the rifle," said Lt. Scott Powell. "We want to find the gun before a kid does."
