It is one busy, busy day in one of Harvey County's smaller towns — Sept. 30 is the annual Burrton Main Street Picnic and Fall Festival.
The day will include a full set activities for people of all ages — including a car show downtown, a free two-mile fun run and walk, barrel train rides, a parade and a country music concert.
The concert will feature a local talent — Lauren Thompson of Newton. Thompson is no stranger to the stage, singing with her father Larry Thompson who is part of Larry Thompson and the Big Buckle Band. She was recently named the runner-up in the Miss Heart of Kansas' Outstanding Teen Pageant.
She will perform a 1:30 p.m. concert on the Burrton Avenue Street Stage.
