Newton High School's 2017 Homecoming Week will be September 25 through 29. The week kicks off Sept. 25 with Peach Fuzz Volleyball from 7 to 9 p.m. at NHS in Ravenscroft Gym. The theme for the week will be “Welcome to the Disney Kingdom.”

NHS classes and organizations will participate in float building from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 27 in preparation for the Homecoming Parade that will start at about 4:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29. Following the parade, the football game against Salina Central will be at 7 p.m. at Fischer Field Stadium along with the coronation ceremony. A homecoming dance for students will be held after the game. 

Theme days for students will include:  Moana Monday (dress up Hawaiian); Tiara Tuesday (tiara, dress up like favorite princess, favorite hat); Wicked Wednesday (dress as a favorite Disney villain); The Incredibles Thursday (dress identically in groups); and Railer Pride Friday (wear black and gold). 

Evening activities include a 7 p.m. Jazz Concert Sept. 25 at the high school; a 6:30 p.m. soccer game Sept. 28 at Fischer Field; and a 7:30 p.m. choir concert Sept. 28 at the high school.
